RapidCare Clinic to Offer New Prescription Savings Card

Austin, TX (PRWEB) June 29, 2007

RapidCare Clinic announced a new prescription savings program that will help participants lower the cost of prescription medication purchases at more than 33,000 pharmacies nationwide.

Individuals can find out more about the program and register themselves and their families by calling a local RapidCare Clinic at 512-828-4405, or online at: http://ift.tt/1BBJrus and clicking on the “Prescription Assistance” link.

“We understand the importance of helping our patients afford the prescription medications their healthcare providers prescribe to them,” said Mark Gaddy, President of RapidCare Management of Texas, L.L.C.

“Texas has the largest percentage of working uninsured in the nation. The RapidCare Rx savings program allows us to broaden access to affordable prescriptions for those who need it most,” he said.

Participants receive a personalized member identification card which can be used for their entire family. A convenient internet site allows members to quickly identify a nearby network pharmacy and to determine the cost of medications prior to purchase. Unlike many other prescription assistance programs, the RapidCare Rx Savings program has no income or residency limitations.

RapidCare Clinic was opened in response to the growing need for affordable healthcare. RapidCare Clinic is an independently owned medical clinic serving both the uninsured and underinsured of Central Texas.

Ron Mansolo, M.D. opened the first RapidCare Clinic in hopes of offering the Central Texas community an affordable option for basic primary medical care. Ron Mansolo, MD, Medical Director of RapidCare Clinic, states, “we are excited to bring patients menu based pricing with an average sick visit costing $ 40.00. This gives the uninsured, and patients with high deductible health plans, a viable option for basic primary medical care.” RapidCare also offers a variety of plans available for persons with no health insurance. For example, the RapidCare Chronic Care Plan includes one year of evaluation, treatment, labs and consultation with a certified nurse practitioner for $ 500. RapidCare Clinic also offers Employer Plans for small employee groups. In addition, most health insurance plans are accepted by RapidCare Clinic.

According to Mark Gaddy, “Providing patients with quick and professional service is critical to ensuring patient satisfaction. That is why all RapidCare Clinics offer a 15 minute appointment guarantee. If a patient is not seen within 15 minutes of their appointment, their visit is free.” Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments are recommended to insure immediate access and the appointment guarantee.

RapidCare Clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants. All are under the supervision of a licensed local physician and their healthcare decisions are strictly governed by current published clinical guidelines. RapidCare Clinic providers can care for both minor urgent medical needs and chronic medical conditions. Minor urgent care problems include sore throat, colds, flu, allergies, cough, pink eye, ear infections, bladder infections, musculoskeletal strains, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, and heartburn. Chronic medical conditions include diabetes, high blood pressure, and thyroid disease. Electronic medical records are used for all patient visits so that a patient can stop at any location and their medical records will be easily accessible.

RapidCare Clinics also offer lab tests at an inexpensive rate. Examples include glucose levels, metabolic panels, cholesterol levels, blood counts, HIV test, and thyroid testing. Prices on these tests range from $ 8.00 to $ 15.00 each.

RapidCare Clinic, P.A. was started in November 2004 by Dr. Ron Mansolo and Dr. Elizabeth Burnell-Mansolo. Their goal was to create a professional clinic environment that provides quality primary care to patients with little or no insurance and do so in an affordable manner. The clinics would also give patients with health insurance the option of having minor medical problems taken care of in a quick and convenient manner.
