Euclid Financial Services Team Trades Boardroom Meetings for Mud Course to Raise Awareness of Veteran Suicide

East Providence, RI (PRWEB) May 21, 2015

A team of financial experts is shedding their suits for workout clothes as they train for an upcoming Tough Mudder endurance competition. The group from Euclid Financial Services in East Providence, RI is led by company president, Joshua Wells, who feels a great responsibility to help war veterans who often times fail to get the support that they deserve.

“We work with many retirees who are also war veterans, so I have a great deal of respect for what they’ve gone through, said Wells. “Recently, a family member of one of our colleagues took his own life after returning home from serving our county. That is when we decided to do something about it.”

Wells rallied his employees to form a team to compete in a Tough Mudder at Mt. Snow, Vermont in June. The main charity supported by the 10-12 mile, mud filled, obstacle course, is the Wounded Warrior Project. To date, the Tough Mudder has raised over $ 6 million to support the transition of thousands of service men and women returning home from current military conflicts. “This has created a real sense of pride around the office. The team believes in the cause and everyone here has been dedicated about putting in their gym time outside of work to get into shape,” added Wells.

Euclid team member and US Marine Corps veteran, LCPL Pete Curran, agrees, “I appreciate everyone here getting behind this cause. I know what it’s like to come back from serving my country in Iraq. Every little bit of support helps and there is a lot of help needed.”

The goal for the Euclid Financial team is to raise $ 20,000 in donations. To help with awareness, Wells has used his own money to produce and run television and radio commercials in Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts to encourage donations to his team and the Wounded Warrior Project. It is an investment that Wells is happy to make, “We are really trying to do some good. The men and women returning from war need our help and we feel that this is a way to do our part.”

Along with the office camaraderie, Well’s team has experienced the added benefit of getting into great shape, “We feel great and every day we are getting closer to our goal. Their motto is like ours. No one gets left behind. We’ll stick together to the end, and no matter what, we are doing something that we can all be proud of.”
